where to shoot
When it comes to capturing the beauty of nature in our shoots, nothing compares to shooting outdoors amidst lush grass, towering trees, and majestic mountains. At Pixelhaus, we understand the importance of finding the perfect location to provide a solid foundation for our photography, and we are fortunate to have a plethora of outdoor areas and parks across the Colorado Front Range to choose from.
The abundant natural beauty of Colorado serves as an idyllic backdrop for our fine art shoots. From the sprawling meadows to the dense forests, the diverse landscapes offer a myriad of possibilities for creating captivating images. Whether we’re seeking a serene lakeside setting, a sun-kissed open field, or a tranquil mountain vista, the Colorado Front Range has it all.
The Colorado Front Range is replete with parks and outdoor areas that offer a wealth of opportunities for our fine art shoots. The Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs presents an awe-inspiring landscape with its towering red rock formations and dramatic vistas. Boulder’s Chautauqua Park offers a blend of mountainous terrain and lush greenery, creating a picturesque backdrop for our artistic endeavors.
extra tips
We cannot emphasize this enough: Please avoid getting a spray tan immediately before your session. While retouching techniques can enhance skin appearance, it is challenging to edit away a blotchy tan or tan that has rubbed off on clothing.
Take care of your nails by ensuring they are clean and manicured. Chipped polish can be distracting and take away from the overall look of your photos. Keep them looking fresh and ready for their close-up!
what to wear
To avoid distraction, it’s best to steer clear of clothing with large logos or wording.
If you plan on wearing something with a pattern, make sure it’s not too busy as it can clash with your background or take the focus away from the star of the show- you.
It’s always a good idea to bring more outfits than you need. We’ll help you narrow down your selections and choose the best accessories to complement your outfit(s).
Dressing in layers is also a great idea. Adding a jacket or a cute hat can easily change up your look without having to change your entire outfit.
When choosing clothing colors, it’s important to consider the background and environment that we’ll be shooting in.
- For fall leaves, warm tones like oranges, yellows, and reds pair well with cooler blues and purples.
- In snowy mountains, cooler blues, grays, and whites pair well with warmer oranges and yellows.
- And in a green grass environment, both warm and cool tones can work well, depending on the specific shade of green.
Remember- complementary colors can create a striking contrast that will make your photos stand out, but ultimately it’s most important that you feel comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing.
